Job Description
Looking for a full time employee for an Environmental Monitor / Project Manager located in Golden BC with flexibility within the role split between field work and work from home.
The Environmental Monitor/ Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Conducting Environmental Monitoring for construction projects
- Performing water quality monitoring
- Helping clients adhere to Construction Environmental Management Plans
- Performing wildlife monitoring
- Bird nest surveys
- Vegetation assessment, monitoring and management
- Soil sampling
- Writing Construction Environmental Management Plans, Erosion and Sediment Control Plans, Sediment and Drainage Management Plans, and Environmental Protection Plans.
- Completing daily and weekly reporting including erosion and sediment inspection logs and spill reports
- Communicating with clients and contractors in a concise and timely manner
- Liaison between contractor and regulatory agencies
- Acting as agent and applying for natural resource and water sustainability act notifications/approvals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Similar in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field
- Experience with environmental monitoring and reporting
- Experience with field work
- Water quality monitoring
- Knowledge of applicable environmental guidelines and regulations
- Attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy of data and information
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders and clients
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
- Proficient in MS Office
- Valid Drivers License and ability to travel to local sites
- Problem solving skills and proactive work approach
